I heard that there was going to be a elementary school in Carver. Is this true? If so when and where?

It’s planned for 2010 in the Tollefson Development. However, the bonding for the schools have yet to be approved. They will close East Union.

Where is the Tollefson development going to be? What is planned there? Houses or townhomes? Do we know how many approx?

Tollefson Development (proposed): about 1000 acres located on the southwest corner of Carver.
The development will have both townhomes and homes.
Around 3,000 units; give or take a few hundred.
The city planner (Cindy Olness) has all the information.

The elementary school is being discussed between the city, ISD 112, and Tollefson Development, however, a number of approvals would need to occur and infrastructure built before any school in any location could become a reality. The Tollefson area is the general location being discussed. But at this time the school board has not committed to building a school in Carver.
At the 9/5 Carver City Council Meeting, the city council asked that it be understood that this is a comment/opinion page and if you have a question for a city hall staff member, please go into the website's "city contact information" tab and click on a staff member you are needing an answer from. Have there been any further plans to build a new Carver elementary school (closer to the current subdivisions or near the 312 entry point will be)?
It would be beneficial to have the new school located closer to the neighborhoods so that you could drop your kids off before heading East to work.
